We are seeking a new wave of team members, to add to our core group of dedicated volunteers. Volunteering at Rook Lane offers a varied programme of activities and is anything but boring!
Whether its stewarding exhibitions of art, craft or photography, helping out with vintage markets, or working behind the bar at gigs and concerts, our volunteers play a valuable role in keeping Rook Lane a vibrant and lively arts centre.
Throughout the year, Rook Lane hosts a wide range of events, from exhibitions and live music to spoken word performances and literature symposiums. For each event a small team of volunteers is needed to act in front of house and stewarding roles. This group is led by the Volunteer Coordinator and Arts Coordinator at Rook Lane, with new members being supported by those with more experience. Volunteers also offer support to the Arts Coordinator and Trustees of Rook Lane by assisting with paperwork, marketing and stage management.
We are currently looking to add to our team, and volunteering roles are open to anyone – all we require by way of commitment is a minimum of 1-2 evenings or weekend days per month of your time. We are particularly keen to hear from students, graduates and those who may be looking to gain experience in arts and events management. Volunteering at Rook Lane is a great way to learn more about managing music events, running a venue, and working in a front of house capacity. There are also further potential opportunities to learn about exhibitions management and arts administration by volunteering in support of the Arts Coordinator.
