Architecture Club presents….Ed Hollis: The Secret Life of Buildings

Tuesday 4th March

Doors at 7pm // Talk from 7:30pm

Grand buildings are often built with a specific message in mind – temples to Gods, Kings and Millionaires. But sometimes events conspire to change the narrative of these edifices and produce a different, secret history. Architect and writer Ed Hollis takes us on a journey through the multi-layered and complex histories of buildings that we think we know, uncovering subversion, mystery and unintended consequences.

About Architecture Club…

ARCHITECTURE CLUB, FROME is a collaborative project initiated by Pippa Goldfinger, NVB / Rook Lane and RIBA South West.  The project will bring architects, architectural writers, engineers and planners to Frome in order to stimulate a wide-reaching debate – for both the public and professionals alike –  on the politics, aesthetics and meaning of the built environment.

In 2013, Architecure Club welcomed FAT Architects, Liza Fior of muf architecture  / art, and architectural writer and critic Owen Hatherly to Rook Lane. 2014′s programme is set to be just as exciting with visits from landscape designers, architects, writers and urban planners in the pipeline.
