Charlie will be exploring some of the traditional supply myths and build an argument for scaling alternative modes of housing which can help solve acute issues of affordability in high demand areas. This talk will feature case studies on innovative land and finance strategies from the UK and abroad with a focus on a number of ongoing projects in Oxford.

Charlie splits his time between the architecture practice Transition by Design, a social enterprise and co-operative working mainly in the housing and sustainability sectors, and undertaking a PhD at Oxford Brookes university on urban housing delivery models. Charlie is also a voluntary Director of a community land trust which aims to build permanently affordable homes in Oxford, one of the least affordable cities in the country.
