Coffee Concert: Passacaglia
Programme to include works by Abel, Handel and Telemann. Passacaglia have performed to great acclaim at venues such as Wigmore Hall, have made many BBC Radio 3 broadcasts, and issued CDs on the Linn label to consistently enthusiastic reviews.

Coffee Concert: Alexandra Dariescu
Programme to include JS Bach Partita No. 3 in A Minor, Schumann Abegg Variations and Debussy Estampes. Featured as BBC Music Magazine’s ‘rising star’ in June 2011, Alexandra is an outstanding communicator, hugely popular with audiences. Forthcoming engagements include Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with the RPO at the Barbican and her Carnegie Hall debut.

Rook Lane becomes The Rialto for a special cinematic treat: a screening of the rarely-seen silent film STREET ANGEL with live, improvised piano accompaniment.

Men With Horns perform "Nightsong in the snow"
This new group of professional musicians made its first appearance at the Wiltshire Music Centre last summer, performing Schubert's 'Nachtgesang im Walde' (Nightsong in the Forest) for men's choir and horn quartet.

Coffee Concert: Accenti Brass Quintet
Programme to include Byrd’s Earle Of Oxford’s March, arr. Howarth, Michael Kamen Quintet for Brass, and a Suite from Bernstein’s West Side Story. The group has performed widely at venues such as St. Martins in the Fields and delighted the audience at Rook Lane Chapel with their glorious playing when they first appeared there in April 2010.

Frome School’s Exhibition
After the hugely successful Puzzle and Play exhibition in the autumn term, Break 3 maths project – making maths creative and accessible for young people – returns to the chapel. Frome schools will be invited to exhibit their number-themed art work and there will be a competition for the best piece.

Rook Lane Films: Miss Julie
Like films but fancy breaking away from the mainstream from time to time? On the first Sunday of every month we will be screening a different cinematic rarity from the collection of the British Film Institute.

Michèle Roberts writing workshop
This practical writing workshop, in a friendly and trusting atmosphere, will look at ways into writing memoir and autobiography. Through short exercises using memories and images, we shall explore how to tell stories about our pasts. All welcome.

To coincide with International Women’s Day 2012, artist Caroline Isgar and author Michèle Roberts (winner of WH Smith Literary Prize, shortlisted for Booker Prize) will transport their installation/ exhibition ‘The Secret Staircase’ from London to Frome.
