Saturday 8th November - Saturday 15th November
10am - 4pm Tuesday - Saturday
Described by the judges as ‘subtle, thoughtful yet mischievous’ this year’s Architects’ Journal Small Projects Awards £1,500 first prize went Chris Dyson Architects’ 13 Wapping Pierhead, an addition to a Georgian-style terrace in east London. Described as ‘architecture for architects, yet a building the public would walk by and equally enjoy’.
It was chosen from a shortlist of 24 projects, all of which were presented to an expert jury that included FAT founder Sam Jacob, Simon Silver of Derwent London, Paul Reed of Marley Eternit, AJ acting editor Rory Olcayto and AJ Sustainability editor Hattie Hartman. Presented in February this year the Architects’ Journal Small Projects Awards celebrates the best schemes built with a contract budget of £250,000 or less.
The AJ Small Projects 2014 shortlist will be on display in the Rook Lane Chapel Cafe, running alongside Rook Lane and Back Again: A Year with the Frome Sketchers
