Saxophone workshop with Andy Tweed - visiting tutor at Wells Cathedral School and Birmingham Conservatoire.
Topics covered - sound, tuning, technique, de-mystify reeds and mouthpieces, jazz stylisation and improvisation, big saxophone ensemble at the end.

Inspired by the great American Songbook with shades of Django Reinhardt, tango, swing and original compositions, L’Esprit du Jazz brings you the coolest of cafe jazz.
Featuring Karen Street on accordion, Andy Tweed on saxophone, Dave Griffiths on bass and Andrew Barrett on guitar.
Accordionist Karen Street has a wealth of expertise, having performed with Ute Lemper, Grace Jones, Willard White, Phil Robson, Mike Westbrook and Martha Wainwright. She was also a member of the Strictly come dancing live band. She is currently playing with jazz singer Tina May.
Well known on the British saxophone scene both as a player and a teacher Andy Tweed’s interests range widely, from jazz to contemporary classical. He regularly performs with Piccadilly Dance Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Mike Westbrook ensembles.
Andrew Barrett is one of the West Country’s best known jazz guitarists, he has performed internationally; in Scandinavia, Portugal, France and New York. London venues he has appeared at include The Royal Academy of Arts, The Ritz and the 100 Club, the oldest live music venue in the capital.
In a jazz career spanning nearly 30 years, renowned bass and jazz mandolin player Dave Griffiths has played alongside Dusko Goykovich, Barbara Thompson, Paul Brett, Tight Like That and Smile, to name but a few, and played some of the top UK Jazz Festivals including Bude, Marlborough and Brecon. Dave currently plays bass and mandolin with legendary singer songwriter Jim Reynolds.
