Curated by the vibrant fashion designer and Milliner Cristina Carneiro de Mendonca Eastwood 'Open Horizon' is a joyful and exciting collection of some of the most interesting artists working in Brazil and Cuba today.

In aid of the Children At Risk Foundation, Brazil - who work in aid of children living on the streets of Rio de Janeiro & 'Transformarte' a non government organisation working to enlighten the people of the 'communities' (slums) about the serious health risks (45,000 currently live with tuberculosis) through the medium of song, dance and art. Teatro Retazos, Havana, Cuba.

There has always been a cross fertilization between Brazilian and Cuban culture, both countries a cauldron of African, Latino and Indian roots. Each culture has Gods and Goddesses in common but more than this they have an effervesence of character that enjoys the challenge of creating something out of nothing against all of the odds.

'Open Horizon' displays the similarity of their national spirit and celebrates the nature of these nations who are fighting to empower the inhabitants of their poorest communities (slums) through the arts.

The collection includes works in acrylic by Cuban Artist Fuster, Works in oil by Brazilian artist Favoretto and works in acrylic by Luis Horacio de Carvalho, also on display jewellery and clothing designed by Cristina Carneiro de Mendonca Eastwood and the women of 'Roscinho' the largest slum in the world the collection is made entirely from recycled materials.
