Wessex Artists: Pinpointing Portland
4th – 18th October 2008
Daily 10am – 5pm
A multi-media exhibition by Wessex Contemporary Arts, inspired by the history, industry and topography of the Isle of Portland, and Tout Quarry in particular: a human-made landscape of waste and abandonment given new life and meaning since its appropriation since 1983 by artists. The work produced reflects an inspired variety of reactions to this extraordinary and moody environment.
