Past Events

Based on Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor and Henry IV, Falstaff is a quite remarkable opera. Verdi's last opera, written in his late old age, is stunning for its freshness, incredible vigour and for being quite unlike any other of his operas.

As an opera Falstaff has everything... humour, nostalgia, romance, passion , pathos... the one thing it lacks is a big part for a chorus which makes it an ideal if challenging choice for Bath Opera’s touring format which has proved so successful in recent years.
