Ben Waters

Saturday 13 March 2010

Performance 8.00pm (doors open 7.30pm)

The name of Ben Waters has become synonymous with boogie woogie, blues, rock ‘n roll, and fun.

Working with and for many of the legends of rock ‘n roll (Shakin’ Stevens, Ray Davies, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and many others), Ben has recently played along with the legendary Axel Zwingenberger and Charlie Watts, both of whom inspired him as a boy when he saw them together in “A Left Hand Like God” on the South Bank Show. Jools Holland, who has encouraged Ben all the way in his career, joined Axel, Charlie and Ben and other friends at a gig in London recently which was described by David Sinclair of The Times as “like a bouncy castle for grown ups”! They are all heading for top venues in Czechoslovakia, Germany and Austria in the New Year.

With a musical pedigree like this, Ben has completed a magnificent apprenticeship and thoroughly enjoys entertaining with his unique slant on life. In his solo shows he injects surprising humorous numbers and original compositions which provide a startling contrast to his piano solos and rock ‘n roll numbers.

This will be an evening you will always remember – this guy is now recognised as Britain’s answer to the great piano players of the Deep South to whom he plays homage in his music.

Don’t miss it!
