Six plus One
Exhibition for Somerset Art Weeks

Sat 18 Sept – Sun 3 Oct 2010

Open daily (including weekends) 10am to 4pm
Closed Tues 21 Sept for conference

An eclectic group of artists who enjoy exploring their inner visions with the qualities of light and colour playing an important role in their work. Kirsten Cooke, Mary Tambini, Terri Hogan, Kate Parry Evans, Hilary Turnbull, Rachel Sargent and Chris Miller.

Cooke captures fleeting and peripheral images, reflections of the world around us.

Hogan's paintings are an evocative and passionate response to the landscape and industrial heritage of Cornwall.

Miller re-visits and re-interprets landscapes affected by man and the passage of time.

Parry Evans' recent explorative painting and semi-abstract landscapes capture the mood and atmosphere of place.

Sargent's works reflect the emotive quality and strength of light where sea meets land.

Tambini's expressive and colourful work is demonstrated by the immediacy and energy of hermark-making.

Turnbull's textured work explores a long-held interest in the impact of man and time on the landscape.
