Black Swan Masked Ball
at Rook Lane Chapel

Saturday 30th October 2010

8.00pm - Midnight

As winter approaches, the nights are drawing in and the darkly beautiful Birds exhibition comes to a close at Black Swan Arts. This sets the perfect stage for the Black Swan Masked Ball. Taking place in the splendid eighteenth century Rook Lane Chapel on the night of Saturday 30th October, townsfolk will flock to the grand masquerade for a night to remember. This charity fundraiser for Black Swan Arts will feature a very special performance by Soul Commotion, an eight piece soul band with front man Laurie Challoner providing powerful lead vocals. He is supported by two perfectly synchronized and harmonized backing singers, together with an irrepressible horn section. Underpinning this, the rhythm section provides a groove that will draw you from your seat and get everyone dancing. Soul Commotion are a definite party-starter, showcasing some of the most popular classics, including ‘Mustang Sally’, ‘Everybody Needs Somebody’, ‘Knock on Wood’, bringing them to life in a dynamic and vibrant concert.

The scene will be set with visuals from the fantastic VJ Ultra and lighting from the brilliant James Loudon. All guests will be welcomed at the door with a complimentary glass of bubbly, supplied by Divas who will be running a full bar.

There will be a raffle on the evening, with prizes kindly donated by some of Frome’s best independent businesses, including Opal Lingerie, Millie Moon, Christina Oswin, La Strada Emporio, Divas and Archangel.

It is recommended to buy your tickets early as this promises to be a sell-out.
