Charlotte Bonneton and Daniel Pioro
Coffee Concert

Friday 8 July 2011 2011

7.30pm

Charlotte Bonneton is a French violinist and violist and pupil of Gyorgy Pauk and Jean Lenert. Having recently obtained her Master of Arts diploma with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music, Charlotte's main interest is chamber music and the collaboration between Music and Dance, as well as involving herself in Music in the Community projects. She studied viola with Matthew Souter at the Royal Academy of Music and performs frequently on both her instruments as part of a classical duo with the violinist Daniel Pioro. She is also the violist of the Fields Quartet, MBF Associate Ensemble of the Lake District Summer Music Festival.

A winner of the 2nd Prize at the Wieniawski International Violin Competition (Junior Category), Charlotte has performed in many important venues in France and England including the Maison de Radio France, the Auditorium du Louvre, the Salle Cortot, the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, the Festival Radio-France in Montpellier, King's Place and the Roundhouse, London. She was recently selected by the International Holland Music Sessions for the program 'New Masters on Tour 2010-2011' and as result will give her debut in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in 2011, among other venues. Charlotte collaborates regularly with the London Contemporary Orchestra both as a violinist and viola player and is keen on introducing audiences to new music.

Charlotte is generously supported by the Accenture Foundation and is part of their young musician scheme.

Daniel Pioro is an English violinist and pupil of Maurice Hasson with whom he studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London. A keen soloist and chamber-musician, Daniel actively promotes new music as well as staying true to the virtuoso repertoire that inspired him to begin playing at the age of four. Leading the London Contemporary Orchestra as well as collaborating with the London Sinfonietta has taken Daniel further into the contemporary music world and he continues to perform as both a part of a classical duo - with the violinist Charlotte Bonneton - as well as a soloist, with the LCO and most recently with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
