Castalian String Quartet 2012

The award-winning Castalian Quartet, already noted for their 'phenomenal impact on audiences', open the Festival with a powerful programme spanning 120 years, ranging from Haydn, via Beethoven to contemporaries Puccini and Dvorak. The Castalians' recent Wigmore Hall debut and Aldeburgh residency have been accompanied by frequent Europen appearances and a tour of China. A young and vivacious string quartet that's going places, in every sense.
