Based loosely on Carson McCullers' novel “The Member of the Wedding” , this study of a French teenager's fitful coming of age and her quest for an acceptable role-model is a vividly entertaining portrayal of teenage angst and was the impressive film debut of Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Robin Hardy Talk – The Wicker Man and The Wicker Tree
Doors at 7:30pm
Robin Hardy, the director of the cult 1970s film “The Wicker Man” pays a visit to Rook Lane to discuss his work and the making of the iconic horror film which inspired generations of film-makers and artists with its surreal intersection of ritual and religion. This will be followed by a screening of Robin’s latest release, and sequel to the 1970s classic, “The Wicker Tree”.

Fleeing from the poverty and hardship of their lives, a farmer and a weaver take root in a deserted village and work together in search of a mutually beneficial livelihood; Mrinal Sen's thought-provoking parable makes an affecting film and benefits from an original score by Ravi Shankar.
