Friday 1st November
Gm3|Music and SNG present… Robbie Boyd with Black Feather, Beth Monk and Colour the Atlas
“Brilliant!” Tom Deacon, BBC Radio 1
“Isn’t that a lovely thing?! Very nice indeed” Graham Norton, BBC Radio 2
With a busking background, Robbie Boyd has built a large international fan base of nearly 10,000 Facebook fans and half a million YouTube views, and has released 3 EPs to great acclaim and chart success. His live shows have been positively reviewed in The Times, Evening Standard, The Telegraph and Time Out. Robbie’s charming song-writing and distinctive vocals combine with colourful arrangements and nostalgic harmonies, provided by his eclectic band, to produce an exciting and uplifting contemporary acoustic-folk-pop-rock sound, somewhere between Arcade Fire, Ben Howard and Two Door Cinema Club. Robbie will be touring the UK with his band in October/November 2013, and with fans like Graham Norton, Dave Gorman and Ray Davies, you’d be mad to miss it!
It’s been a busy year for Robbie Boyd and his band, having played to 30,000 people at the Olympic Park supporting McFly and The Feeling, sold out a headline show at Bush Hall and performed live for the second time on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ to millions of people. Robbie has been played on Xfm, Absolute Radio and BBC Radio 2 and was invited to perform on Chris Evans’ Radio 2 Breakfast Show. He made the top 20 of MTV’s Brand New Unsigned 2013 and the finals of the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville, and has already toured extensively through Argentina, France, Germany, Italy and the UK. Robbie has also supported The Kooks, King Charles and Daughter and performed at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Hyde Park, Bestival and Wilderness Festival. Robbie recently became the first ever Briton to perform on the roof of the O2!
