Sunday 7th June
Film at 8:30pm // Doors & refreshments from 7:30pm
(dir. Juzo Itami, Japan 1987, 114 mins, subtitled)
A gastronomic comedy of table manners in which a truck driver attempts to teach an inept widow how to cook the perfect bowl of noodles and proves himself to be something of a kitchen samurai in the process. The meandering style of the film, mixing plot digression and genre hopping, is hard to resist – like its subject matter!
