The Sacconi String Quartet

The Sacconi Quartet is known throughout the world for its creativity and integrity. Formed in 2001, its four founder members (Ben Hancox & Hannah Dawson, violins, Robin Ashwell, viola and Cara Berridge, cello) reach out to audiences with their energy and enthusiasm. In addition to performing, the quartet dedicate much of their time and passion to education work and their latest project “String Thing” is going down a storm with the young people they work with.
The Quartet’s opener will be Bridge’s Three Noveletten for String Quartet, followed by Ravel’s ravishing String Quartet. After the interval, the Sacconis perform Schubert’s final String Quartet, No. 15 in G major, D887, surely one of the most powerful pieces ever written for this medium. A rare opportunity to hear a world class string quartet in an acoustically and architecturally distinguished building.
