David Chandler’s Life Drawing Class present recent works.

“Only way, is to sweat it out in life class, like I did.”

So said David Hockney when he was asked if he had any advice for a young person who was thinking of embarking on a career as an artist.

The human body is a paradigm of highly-evolved, natural engineering and by far the greatest challenge for anyone who likes to draw. For that reason, it’s also the ideal study for artists wishing to improve their visual acuity, their fluency and their confidence – and that includes Tracey Emin!  David Chandler’s Life Drawing class for Frome Community Education attracts architects, designers, art students and professionals, media creatives and enthusiasts of all kinds. This show will be both a celebration of their work and the extraordinary, miraculous form that we all possess.
