Lantern Parade and Christmas Light switch on.

Frome’s town centre will once again be transformed into a magical scene with hundreds of lanterns descending down Bath Street to the Market Place and the lights of the Christmas tree being illuminated. The parade will start from Rook Lane Chapel, so come along and bring your own cup/insulated mug and buy a mulled cider/apple juice, plus maybe with a shot of spiced rum, to keep you warm on your way down into town.

A regular for BBC radio and a headliner in festivals around the country including Edinburgh, he has produced ten books of verse and prose, two CDs and one mug. His poems manage to take the minutiae of modern life like dogs, potatoes and handkerchiefs spinning them into a philosophical framework.

Frome Festive Art Fair

A one day art fair, showcasing a variety of work by brilliant local artists, including printmaking, painting, ceramics, sculpture, illustration and jewellery. The event will take place at two of Frome’s most beautiful arts venues, Rook Lane Chapel and the Silk Mill. There will be chances to get creative with mini festive workshops, from printing to bauble decoration, all led by local artists. Mulled wine and mince pies will be available to help get visitors in the festive spirit, as well as tea, coffee and lots of cake!

On view are this years entries for Frome Rotary Club’s annual young photographer competition. This is stage one of a national competition, for three age groups 7-11, 11-13,and 14-17. This years theme is “Through My Eyes”. There will be some stunning work on show.
