Green & Healthy Frome present: “Future Council” Film
Saturday 7th March
2pm to 4pm
Join us for a viewing of Future Council – a film about Young People travelling across Europe to better understand the climate crisis, explore solutions and challenge leaders, CEOs of influential companies and the world’s largest polluters.
After the film there will be a Q and A with members of Frome Youth Climate Action Group.
This is a chance to hear directly from local young people about what climate action means to them, and what they are already making happen here in Frome.
Also, from 11am to 12pm, the group will lead a procession through town. They will carry Plastic Bones, a handmade globe sculpture created from rubbish collected on our streets. Plastic Bones symbolises the heavy burden of plastic pollution on our planet and the vital role of young people play in holding up its future.
The Frome Youth Climate Action Group is an initiative supporting a team of 12–18-year-olds in Frome to lead climate action in their own way supported by Green and Healthy Frome and led by artist and climate actionist Chris Redmond — who works with scientists, artists, farmers, diplomats, and campaigners around the globe to turn big challenges into real change along with others.
It is organised by Edventure’s Future Shed.
This free film screening is enabled through funding from the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund and Green and Healthy Frome, and Freco.
Tickets are free but need to be booked in advance. The screening is open to anyone aged 8 and over.
If you know a young person who cares about the planet, or if you do, come along. Sit together. Watch. Talk.
