Contemporary Quilters West are a small but diverse group of art quilters based in the West Country who come together six times a year to share ideas, offer each other creative support and discuss ways of increasing their professionalism and promoting their work.

The group’s ongoing exhibition title of ‘Unfolding Stories’ was conceived to allow each member to show a small collection of new work, capturing a point in time in their own creative story. The work includes a political statement about the use of toxic chemicals, meditative hand stitching on indigo dyed pieces and on cream fabrics, abstract and brightly coloured dyed, printed, painted, pieced and appliqued work, figurative work featuring scenes from Frome and both abstract and figurative pieces inspired by walks at the seaside.
