The last few months here at Rook Lane as the new Venue Manager have flown by. I have soon discovered this role and venue has so many different faces, what a fascinating place to work! Frome is full of such vibrant lovely people, and this venue is such a gem offering so much to so many different people. Workshops, concerts, private parties and Weddings to name a few, such a mix of wonderful events. NVB Architects and I would love to see Rook Lane even busier, please get in touch if you are looking for a venue space.
To carry on with the growth of Rook Lane Chapel, we are seeking a new wave of team members, to add to our core group of dedicated volunteers. Volunteering at Rook Lane offers a varied programme of activities and is anything but boring!
Whether its stewarding exhibitions of art, craft or photography, helping out with Architecture club, or working behind the bar at gigs and concerts, our volunteers play a valuable role in keeping Rook Lane a vibrant and lively arts centre.
Throughout the year, Rook Lane hosts a wide range of events, from exhibitions and live music to spoken word performances and literature symposiums. For each event a small team of volunteers is needed to act in front of house and stewarding roles. This group is led by our fantastic front of house team and me the Venue Manager at Rook Lane, with new members being supported by those with more experience.
We are currently looking to add to our team, and volunteering roles are open to anyone – all we require by way of commitment is a minimum of 1-2 evenings or weekend days per month of your time. We are particularly keen to hear from students, graduates and those who may be looking to gain experience in arts and events management. Volunteering at Rook Lane is a great way to learn more about managing music events, running a venue, and working in a front of house capacity.
If you are interested in volunteering with us, or would like to find out more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me on 01373 468040 or email email@example.com
